The Horse

The horse came back alone, with an intense and pleading look in his eyes.

The Queen knew that he was sent back by the Master with a message. His loyalty was unquestionable, unlike the other advisors who surrounded the King. She knew that the King was in trouble, and had sought help.

She ordered the Army to get ready for a long sojourn. Led by the Queen, they were asked to just follow the horse.

The sages they met en route, the resistance they encountered from so-called friends was a revelation. Beyond a certain point, the horse refused to cooperate with the army. He only wanted the Queen to ride him. With total faith and conviction, she asked the soldiers to stay put where they were and proceeded alone.

It was a journey of the self, into the unknown. How often do we recognize the spirit guides sent our way, and how often do we agree to shed the army that defends us, to forge ahead alone?
