time has no reverse gear
or so it seems
aging of bodies
re-emphasizes it
there are no roadmaps
with perfect signs
destiny remains entwined
in life destinations
why regret
concepts I once had
a pentimento lens
only changes perceptions
nobody died
other than my dreams
the failure is mine
as much the battle was

Aging does suggest we are always going in a future direction. Other dreams will arise.

“nobody died
other than my dreams”
This shows a resilience that one can be committed to going with the flow so long as violence is not done to the will of another.

So much change happens to us… so part of change is just acceptance.

The final stanza is striking and poignant. I like the whole poem, too.
