Reena’s Exploration Challenge #Week 19

Welcome to the last challenge of 2017!

S.M.A.R.T

The acronym had first appeared in the November, 1981 issue of Management Review by George T. Doran. SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-Bound) is commonly attributed to Management By Objectives by Peter Drucker. Thank you, Mr. Doran and Mr. Drucker, for limiting human thought to the realms of the possible!

Great achievements and inventions have been possible due to unrealistic ambitions. The words ‘impractical’ and ‘unrealistic’ trigger an automatic deletion of ideas, when we write resolutions or goals – for a month, year or lifetime. But if we write it, it enters the subconscious mind, and stands a chance of being realized, if fuel meets fire or the rubber hits the road someday. The thoughts need to be picturized, verbalized to enter the neural pathways in the brain.

I came across a beautiful quote by Vineet Nayar, former CEO, HCL Technologies saying

“Where there is no certainty, everything is possible”.

THE CHALLENGE

You need to write just one line – okay, increase it to two, three or a para as per your verbiosity. A photograph, picture or piece of artwork can also be used.

Impractical Goal

WISHING YOU ALL AN EXCEPTIONALLY HAPPY AND CREATIVE NEW YEAR ….

  1. My one sentence Reena:

Moments when you consider the impossible and dream of the possibility that gives you the courage to move forward no matter how guarded but always hopeful that what you think is not going to happen may well still occur, thrills you to the core.

Happy New Year, looking forward to the challenges you present.
