Getting close assumes a different meaning, as life moves ahead.
We came close
to grow apart
as the self expanded
and selfies enticed
You cannot be better than the reflection I love. Self-love is a value pop psychologists have been dinning into me. Nobody knows the fine line between love and obsession.
Oh, why did you fail
to notice me
as you navigated
thro’ stormy waters?
Reflections do not always convey the truth. The surface matters, filters and lights matter. Distortions do happen, as do magnifications.
My ego expands
as prisms I choose
show me patterns
I can only love

Great juxtapositioning of images and themes, Reena.

Thanks, Neel! One often fails to see the other side, which fuels behavior on this side.

Oh so true! I had the same thoughts 😉 She is so very pretty, but her actions in this image are so very off-putting and seemingly self-absorbed. I’m not much of a selfie-taker, but it really made me rethink what it looks like from the outside looking in. Wonderful as always — thank you so much for joining us again this week 🙂

Thanks,Kelly! In case they are a couple, it makes us look deeper into relationships. It is just insouciance, if they are not together.
