Health Conscious

Leela had been my companion on the morning walk for five years now. One couldn’t call us ‘besties’, but we shared a lot, and had learnt to respect differences of opinion.

We stopped for our shot of vegetable juice after the walk. She watched me spill a part of it on the sidewalk with exasperation.

“Why do you buy that, if you don’t relish it?”

“But I do.”

“Then, what makes you waste it?”

“I see the rats are getting addicted to coffee and popcorn. It is my little experiment to see if this generation of rats is health conscious.”
