Ruins of existence

Anne Madagascar, the award-winning firefighter was being interviewed on a television Show,

“Was the fire at Peace Tower your last assignment?”

“Yes. I suffered second degree burns. I failed.”

“Would you elaborate on that?”

“I had reached a window and was about to jump in. Then, I saw that despicable face – the man who had ruined my career and life ……” Anne’s voice trailed off.

“But what did you do, Ms. Anne?”

“I stood there, seething in rage with tears in my eyes. Flames engulfed me…”

“And the man?”

“I never bothered to check back. He ruined me once again.”

  1. Reena, this is a great story! I can picture events as the fire played out with the firewoman. There aren’t very many firewomen today, but I’m glad they have the chance to prove we aren’t the weaker sex.
