I write poetry. I enjoy writing poetry. However, a lot of my poetry is unrhymed. No it has a pattern, a cadence, a rhythm, just not a word at the end of the line that sounds a lot like the word at the end of a following line. I consider it a form of poetry and I actually prefer them. i have also written some poetry that is rhymed. Both have their places in literature. Just my opinion.

Combos exist – prose and poetry sandwich, alternating prose and verse, haibun ….. as long as it conveys the message as a single integrated piece, the format does not matter.
