Eager to Speak

It was obvious that somebody had been looking for something, which was valuable. It could either be of material value, or hold a clue for the investigation. The cops turned the place upside down once again, but found nothing that spoke the language they were so eager to hear.

The little mynah was the only living being found in the basement. She looked straight into their eyes, to catch their attention, and appeared eager to speak. Inspector Pandey was totally exhausted. He held up the bird to the camera,

β€œRecord the sound, Anu! Maybe she knows something that we don’t.”

  1. Good pacing of the story, Reena. You give us a descriptive opening paragraph. In the second paragraph you home in on the detail, the mynah bird. And in the last line, you give us the pay-off. Nicely done.
