The neighbourhood cat had chosen us to feed her.
She followed the delivery boys and waited for the door to open, so that she could slink in.
She enjoyed her afternoon naps on the living room carpet.
One evening, we returned home to find her under the bed, with three new born kittens.
We enjoyed being chosen as first-time grandparents.

Of course, you must know I love this! I have been mama to a few cats with two catkids now but never been a grandparent. A good thing because I would find it very difficult to send the kittens to new homes. Thank you for sharing your story.

Fully agree. I had to send them away to a friend’s farmhouse, and it was heart-wrenching.
