Simulated Reality

Do we really live in a simulation?

Who controls us?

Where are we going to end?

Tougher than that, where and when did we start, and who brought us here?

He took a keen interest in the subject, and lapped up every theory, article, game and video he could lay his cursor on. He felt a thrill coursing down his spine, in using the cursor as a human appendage, and controlling the cyber world. WHO CONTROLLED WHOM?

Suddenly, missiles appeared on the screen, targeting the competitors. The game was deadlier than he thought. No, this is not a simulation. 1. Fascinating piece questioning who’s really in control of all things, and the things inbetween, like this guy is control of his virtual reality or simulation game.

      1. In this particular movie, a teenage hacker accidentally makes contact with an advanced government war games computer only to realize the computer, thinking it’s playing a fictional scenario, is about to really launch US missles at its targets. The only hope is to find the program’s creator who is a recluse.

  2. A dark perspective, but one that feels more real than paranoid every year. The modern equivalent of the “brain in a vat” argument is even more compelling than the original: at a sufficient level of technology, how *could* we tell that what we perceive is real and not simulated? And to think of who might be behind those simulations, and what their purposes might be… makes me shiver!
