Exploring

The paralytic attack had brought Steve’s productive life to a halt. Thankfully, only the right side of the body had been affected. Steve was an upcoming scientist, who had invented a few devices to help differently abled people.

He hated vegetating in the wheelchair and being dependent on others for his basic needs. He started experimenting with using the left side of his body for working in a lab and continue with the research. He was amazed at the range of ideas he could generate. His mind was functioning better than ever before.

His associates opined that the right side of the brain had probably been activated. Creativity was enhancing reasoning and logical ability.

Late in the night, Steve lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Why don’t we explore the other side while one is still active? Why do we wait for life or the administration, to place a signpost, to compel a different take? What stops us from walking, if the rules do not allow driving? Or just meandering through on a holiday?

He had discovered the key to a productive existence.
