The Autumn Leaf

Dilapidated, but not fully worn out

cracked up, unbroken earthen pots

line the flowerbeds in the withering garden.

I capture imperfections in the autumn leaf

in my amateur attempts at photography

and try to lend meaning to a semi-retired life.

My ageing skin looks harsh on the neon-lit stage

I am not updated with latest airbrushing techniques

Back home, within the confines of peeling wall paint

My ageing partner finds a perfect mate in my imperfections.
