NOW thought life was a series of hardships. In a flash, it seemed over, and the prospect of regeneration was always called for.

The twisting and contorted requirements to create a new NOW always weighed heavily on it.

But NOW had long been convinced that people required a NOW and it had a responsibility to see that the NOW was always available. As it was, PAST, basked in the knowledge it was always there, constantly being built upon to the point it now consisted of a megalith of history.

There had been a persistent argument within the universe as to the length of NOW. Some called for the NOW to be instantaneous, there for a milli second and then gone. Too bad if people missed it for the concept of NOW was in its purest form just that, NOW. NOW argued that in some cases the NOW could be stretched…

Before I present tonight’s contribution to the dVerse prompt, I just want to state that this poem is fiction. I know a lot of poets write from their own lives, but as a fiction writer who desires to be a poet, a lot of my poetry involving people is made up. I don’t think the emotions are or the experiences, but they aren’t mine. Thank you. 🙂
