The shore is hers alone. A fine drizzle washes away the tears that stream down her ashen cheeks. Wandering along the water’s edge, she watches the foaming waves flow and ebb leaving lines in the sand. She stoops to trace a heart with her finger and gazes forlornly as it washes away.

Atop the cliff, he stares at the boulders below. At his feet, a single golden flower refuses to submit to the wind that tries to tear it away. Should he surrender to the emotions that drag him ever closer to the edge?

She falls to her knees, the pain too much to bear. Gazing up at the grey sky, she begs for something to rescue her from her distress. She looks over her shoulder at the rock face and the silhouette of a forlorn soul on the verge of taking his final fateful journey.

Where are all the Greens?

Ramya Tantry's avatarAnd Miles to go before I sleep...

We have seen how greenery in nature look..

We have seen how cityscapes look..

We are lucky enough to have seen the best of both worlds..

But will the next generation be lucky enough?

Will they know how a countryside and forests looks like or will they be confined in concrete jungles?

Will they know how the clear and silent night sky, full of stars look or will they be entertained by lights of the city that never sleeps..

Will they know the colors of Nature or will they only know black, grey and white…

We are using up all the greens available…

Ever wonder what we will be leaving behind?

This is a beautiful video on YouTube telling us about what we are leaving behind for the next generation. Do watch.

Scotts Daily Prompt Acute

Your Daily Word Prompt – Frigid

A sudden large engine roaring made me rush to the window.

I stood frigid as I saw a large crane and huge trucks.

In my big and beautiful farm a lot of people had started constructing skyscrapers. There were factories and vehicles with all possible pollutants present.

When did this happen? Maybe while I was out of town, busy with my health checkup. How could I not notice it?

My reports were quite normal but this vision in front of my eyes was about to give me a heart attack.

I couldn’t see my farm animals, my fruit trees, my food crops. They were all gone. But where?

“Lauren! Lauren!” someone shook me by my arm.

I tried to turn to have a look at that persons face…

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #65 – A Voyage of Discovery

A story about discovery of likeable green monsters – by Michael

challenge-65

Miranda was a city girl and as such grew up in a concrete jungle, as her mother explained to her. Outside there was the odd tree and green areas, but Miranda didn’t have a concept of wide open spaces even though she saw plenty on the TV in her room.

To her, the world was one of grey with the occasional splashes of green.

Her parents blamed themselves for bringing up their daughter in such an environmentally challenged way. It didn’t bother Miranda as she was fine living as she did on the twenty-third storey above the city, where the lights at night kept her entranced, especially so at Christmas when they presented themselves in more colours than she imagined existed.

One day her school announced there was to be an excursion into the country. Miranda was excited, as she’d never been to the country. Her parents, like her, were…

a rondel of vision – by LadyleeManila

Regrets I have none as I sail along
Cheering, flowing down the stream with such ease
Searching under the fringe, oh loving the breeze
Even with the sting of hardship that comes along

Drift along the grey world, everything’s wrong
Sometimes binge of temptation comes in threes
Regrets I have none as I sail along
Cheering, flowing down the stream with such ease

Singing a song of vision all nightlong
Oh to be free and the day we seize
The sky is blue and so green the trees
The world is wonderful where I belong
Regrets I have none as I sail along*
