Neither man nor beast,
by day or by night,
no weapon nor bomb
could end his reign.
A wish fulfilled
granted by an anti-god,
penance twisted, purpose obscene,
insanity made divine.
The monster lived with no fear of Death.
Then from a stone pillar emerged a creature:
half-man, half-beast, at twilight’s edge.
Claws like razors,
sharp enough to strip life from sin itself.
And Death was what he saw
The monster perished

A very well drawn beast. I so agree with your comment to Bjorn, that we can see an unreasonable animal inside human beings.

Long back, I read an article that trimming nails is akin to trimming the beast within us. We need to constantly work on it.

Nice work my friend! Don’t get around much theses days Reena, physically difficult for me. Glad I stopped by today though. 🙂

This is gorgeously rendered, Reena. I love the characteristics of Narasimha and yes, they do mimic the darker impulses of human beings ❤️ Kudos!

Fascinating reading yours after Bjorn’s gossipy mythological Norse squirrel and a focus on the gossip and lies so prevalent today. This man lion that cannot be defeated is quite frightening, monstrous and makes us feel powerless. ‘penance twisted and purpose obscure’ is very apt. But this monster scared of his own death. Thanks for this

We never know if they existed, but yes, the characterization is good. We can see it in a way that there is an unreasonable animal inside human beings.
