The moon was but a chin of gold
A night or two ago…
-It grows full like an expectant mother
post-partum deflation is what I dread
for I can’t find what it chose to shed
it enriches the stars
deprives the Earth
the sky shares light
but not the source
What do they fear?
A multitude of gods
walking the Earth
destroying mystery
writing new stories
creating history
The moon is but an insecure beast
shapeshifting to mislead
-it borrows light
as a matter of right
a solar disconnect is what I dread
the split will spell the world’s end

Science does say the moon is drifting further away… but who knows what else may come to distract the path of our planet?
The moon is such a great source of inspiration for those who wish to muse upon it. 🙂

The drift is very small, so the moon may appear to be distant, but very much present.

And for many years to come, the moon will bless us?

Let us hope so.

I like the alternative way to describe the moon…. the way it just borrows light… maybe it just the mirror aspect of that influences us.

Mirrors reveal so much and conceal so much.

Reena, the moon has been described in so many ways, and I think none of them are wrong. She is a trickster in this regard.

Trickster is an interesting word for the moon 😀 Thanks, Lisa!

This is gorgeous writing, Reena. I especially like; “it enriches the stars/
deprives the Earth/the sky shares light/but not the source.” ❤️❤️

A solar disconnect? I think humanity won’t be around to see that.
