What kind of sounds do their souls emanate
their essence scooped out – too soon or too late?
Did they grow unhindered to their full potential?
before gifting shells l to those who appreciate
their essence scooped out – too soon or too late
I wonder if they cry for what has been lost
before gifting shells l to those who appreciate
Will they witness unmeasured, unpatterned growth?
I wonder if they cry for what has been lost
What kind of sounds do their souls emanate
Will they witness unmeasured, unpatterned growth?
Did they grow unhindered to their full potential?

I’m glad I don’t care for seafood.

Breaking news among researchers and scientists: the new school of thought is that lobsters and crabs, etc., likely DO feel pain when thrown into a pot of boiling water. How anyone could think otherwise is something I will never get.
Beautifully written …. heartfelt verse, Reena. Thank you.

Is it worse, I wonder, to kill something before it’s reached its potential, or afterwards. And who would make the decision?
