whispers of indignation
from trampled
flame-hued leaves
we provided shade
when we were green
maturity knows
every cycle ends
bare branches
raise new foliage
roots nourish
soil laments separation
tangerine ferocity
swept away
memory erased
a new regime
brings fresh rules
lessons unlearned

this was so good Reena 💛💜🥰🥰

Thank you so much! Is Delhi-NCR already turning cold?

You are welcome. Last week it was wonderful but then over the weekend it became very hot and humid. Since yesterday it has become cool again.
Mumbai had heavy rainfall, isn’t it!

Yes. I am in Pune now. Rainfall continues to be heavy, and it is cool.

Sorry, I keep forgetting you are in Pune now. Pune weather is much better than Mumbai’s I have been told.

if the leaves had voices! trampled, indeed– but such a glorious, crisp sound of fall.

Being trampled and bruised… yes that would give raise to those vivid colors.

The botanical explanation of colors and human impressions are so different. Colors are a whole branch of study.

A great take on the prompt, and is that why leaves are red.

I’m waiting to hear those ‘whispers of indignation / from trampled / flame-hued leaves’, Reena, the leaf exodus hasn’t really started yet here. I love the image of ‘tangerine ferocity’ being swept away.
