Life in Motion

I exited the elevator and realised it was the wrong floor.

I  pressed the button again but had to wait till it returned from the 29th floor.

Meanwhile, a toy winks at me from a box. I notice somebody’s life packed in a few boxes, waiting to find a new home.

“Can we see the sunset from the balcony in the new house?” I hear a sweet voice from the half-open door.

“We have a lawn there. You can play any  time you wish.”

“But the sun will miss me. I say goodnight every evening.”

“No worries, he’ll find you.”

  1. Ohhh, that is so sweet. As we are waiting for our new apt to open, back where we used to live (and most importantly, on the bus route), we were talking last night. “Wouldn’t it be nice if they put us back into the same apartment we were in? It overlooks the courtyard, and I can sit and watch the squirrels play.” I told hubby. He looked over at me with a chuckle. “You are a squirrely girl, and I love ya anyway.” I tell ya, it really helps as I’ve been rather down with having lost the ability to drive.
