Rules do not govern the wildflower that grows in the crevices of a sidewalk, which is beautiful and complete. It is not at the mercy of the gardener, who strives for a certain quality and feels deflated if the flowers do not meet his standards.
It is never taken to an exhibition to win awards, though I wish an artist gets it recognised as art, independent of the artist’s will.
The beauty myth is about conforming to shapes that are not your own. The excellence myth is about perfecting thoughts and processes that are not your own.
The dream of freedom is about existence beyond society and civilisation.

“Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them,” said A.A. Milne.
Those thoughts that are not your own give me pause and make me shy away.

Good warning about society and civilization especially the part about “perfecting thoughts and processes that are not your own”.
