Reena’s Xploration Challenge #343

Welcome back to another week of August!

I must start with a heartfelt appreciation for all the contributors to the last prompt. Each piece was moving in its own way.

The one that I found creative and all-encompassing is a series of micro-poems by Debbie Pierce.

Agony in the background
crumbling in my soul
world in chaos
as I grow old

Amid the darkness
there is fire and shame
searching for answers
wondering who to blame

Outer layer crumbles
rocks and dirt on the ground
raw emotions remain
tears in which I drown

Feeling bold
I cry out in pain
someone help me
take me out of this game

Hearing a faint voice
seeing a dim light
love surrounds me
the rays grow bright

Lifting me up
with the strength to begin
healing comes slowly
each step is a win

Feeling whole
helping others ride the wind
the shame is extinguished
turmoil has come to an end

PROMPT #343

The theme for this week is FREEDOM.

You can choose one of the different types of freedom mentioned in this video.

IMO, freedom is never absolute. You could also toy with themes such as

  • layers of freedom
  • shades of freedom
  • perils of freedom
  • limitations of freedom
  • potential of freedom

The format of the piece is not restricted, and there is no last date either unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

We will not include any post that is found to be offensive, vulgar or hurts ordinary sensibilities. This needs to be a safe space.

Create a post on your blog and copy-paste the link in the Comments. If you use a pingback, check to see if it has worked.

    1. As the story emerges, a man in the same place could have been murdered for exposing corruption and other scandals. Her exemplary courage brought many crimes to light, but she faced cruelty instead of being rewarded or appreciated.
