Insanity confronts

from the worlds you imagined
behind the clouds
awaiting your glance.

you want to ditch the poetic
and embrace familiarity
mundane aspects
of a humdrum existence

Perhaps, what we want to see and what we see are not the same. A confused state of mind makes us unsettled and we prefer familiarity, thus the mundane and humdrum existence seems more comforting. With humankind, there are layers of tolerance and while many can deal with and sometimes enjoy chaos, others retreat.
