Carpe Diem
someone said
Seize the day
and my young self
was highly impressed
Today morning
a well-written news clip
talked about Deceit
seizing the silence
because the silence is grey
I imagine black and white
struggling to find their place
in rainbow hues
of an inclusive world
It’s nothing new
governance failure
loopholes in the law
-my old, hardened self
has seen so much of it
that shocks stay away
from my impermeability
I take pride in
choosing not to impose
my outdated value system
on a new world order
My outlook is progressive
Because I refuse to look back
“Protect your wealth.”
My Youtube shorts
babble away…
yet deep down somewhere
I know something is lost
a system has failed
when frauds are de rigeur
chicanery goes unpunished
because it knows
how to manipulate
when development demands
that we de-regulate
and let people take care
of their own interest

Well written, Ma’am. 🙂
