platitudes give meaning to emptiness
light up a path ahead

but let them not replace
hard-earned wisdom or experience
those who coined the words
put together their perspectives
I may have another view or way
Who is the audience to say?
It reeks of a mindset – not theirs

platitudes spark discussions
with naysayers on both sides
bring rigidity to the fore
embedded in loyalty
or pride in rebellion
