Heights

intellect
soaring high
building structures
in the air
to meet the sky

let’s chat
learn each other’s lingo
to understand first
then collaborate
maybe invade
there’s nothing left
to be called private

why did we remain strangers
for so long?
children of the same God
clueless
without a common code
Thanks for the influence
Bad, indifferent or good

earthlings write poetry
on the moon
and then swoon
wonder if someone
on another planet
watches them
worships, pines
or plans
something else

yet again
imagination
taking flight
the structure records
what it can see or hear
and so much more
remains unsaid

  1. Reena, I like your pensiveness here while regarding the heavens and us “motes in god’s eye” trapped on earth. Note: The Mote in God’s Eye is the name of an excellent 1974 novel written by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.

  2. Enjoyed this take on John’s photo very much. His photos have sure brought out lots of reflection. Makes me wonder how we can be so egotistical to think we’re the only beings in the universe?
