FOR SALE – Baby shoes – never worn.

Perspectives change in a flash. A new story is born.

My family never accepted me as I was, and I failed to become what they would like me to be.

This story of guilt and conflict is a rendition that blocks forward movement and offers no solution.

It hurts their interest if I blossom as an individual. They fear a negative light being cast on them.

This narrative puts me back in power, free of guilt.

Change the conversation with yourself. Change the narrative.

Write new stories to support forward movement, not survival.

  3. I can’t tell you just how much I can resonate with these very words. I myself was never wanted after I was born. I was adopted into a what the outside world would view as a “good home.” But what they didn’t see was, the dark and hidden secrets behind closed doors, the inhumane abuse, the alcoholism, their words that cut like a knife and do much more.

    So after 19 years, I was able to escape all that torment. My story reveals strength, resilience, courage, flipping the script, and changing the ending of my story to an inspirational story others can find peace in, knowing they are not alone. My story of survival will one day inspire others to come out of the dark and tell their story of survival, along with being an inspiration to so many people around the world. I’ve found since telling my story and being a mental health advocate, I’ve touched hearts all over the world. So I would say I have changed the narrative, along with reducing the stigma that surrounds mental illness.

      1. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. Yes, you are absolutely right. I have painfully endured so much trauma and abuse in my life. More than one person ever should. But, through the darkest pits of hell, I found the courage to rise above it and be a beacon of light and hope for others.

        As the saying goes, you must first endure the storm before you can see the sunshine and rainbows.

        As far as your question regarding if I’m writing an autobiography or novel. I’m writing an autobiography of my life as a child and all the inhumane abuse and torment I suffered.
