Welcome back!

PROMPT #307

I give you 10 openings or endings for your piece this week to be included in your piece at the beginning or end.

Find a way to include it in fiction, non-fiction, poetry, poetic prose, prose poetry or alternating prose.

Choose any one of the following prompts.

  1. He smiled as he closed the book, knowing that he had just read the most beautiful story ever written.
  2. She looked at the stars one last time, then turned off the lights and left the observatory forever.
  3. He pulled the trigger, but nothing happened. The gun was empty, just like his life.
  4. She hugged him tightly, feeling his heartbeat. It was the first time she had ever felt alive.
  5. He watched the sun set over the horizon, then took a deep breath and jumped.
  6. She opened the envelope and read the letter. It was too late. He was gone.
  7. He finally reached the top of the mountain, only to find that there was nothing there.
  8. She closed her eyes and whispered, “I love you.” Then she let go of his hand and fell into the abyss.
  9. He looked at the mirror and saw a stranger. He had forgotten who he was.
  10. She waved goodbye to her family, then boarded the spaceship. She was ready for a new adventure.

If you feel adventurous, you may use more than one line. If you feel inspired you may choose to write more than one piece.
