“Our vision of the future is quite often, a projection of our past experience, and this is the only reason for disappointment, heartbreak and relationship failures”, Manil wonders if his son’s words emanate from wisdom or vested interest.
“In absence of this connection, how do I visualize the future? Won’t it be a fairy tale or sci-fi?”
“Fairy tales will disappoint you even more. The keyword is flexibility and the willingness to adapt to whatever comes without resentment or criticism, because you don’t really have the power to change anything. Your assumptions and expectations cause more pain than external stimuli.”

That’s quite the philosophy class.

Thank you, Bernadette! 🙂 All of us follow a certain philosophy, maybe of not paying heed to philosophy.

As some say, it’s not so much what happens to you, it’s what you think about it.

totally agree (with the protagonist)…
but it isn’t so much that we can be disappointed by reality as we are not willing to accept that it all comes from within
thought-provoking as always!

I agree that attachment to a cause or the results comes from within. Thank you, Clark!
