I don’t mind being called the Rebel of the Century or a cynic or spoilsport.
But whenever someone who is in power or an aspirant to power highlights a story, I look in other directions. What are they trying to conceal, or divert attention from?
“You fall victim to people’s stories ….” is an oft-repeated allegation to make me look like an imbecile.
What lies between the words?
How dare you refuse to buy my version of the story?
There will be no end to gaslighting, as long as the victim concedes defeat, and refuses to peep into pregnant darkness.

Do you remember the old movie with Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman called “Gaslight”? I’m sure you’re far too young but perhaps you’re an old movie buff. It’s a classic tale about……
