magnificence of thought
engineering marvel
arches over Arabian sea
I pay for the ride
head bowed in reverence
to human intellect
waves crash
on carefully constructed pillars
wanting to meet
human minds
asking for care
in dealing with
underwater life
I see an old man
take a long route bus
unable to afford
the two-way toll
for crossing sea link
I wonder how many
bridges are needed
to cover gaping holes
in God’s creation
all the places
beyond intelligence

Haven’t seen or been on the sealink as yet. We need many bridges to fill the gaps but are we trying enough, that is the question!
Thanks for this thought provoking take, Reena.

I think some things, connection can’t fix.

True. But are we working on those that can be fixed? But you are right that we need to accept at a point that a certain situation is beyond repair.

Yes, so much to bridge, life, living, earth, and you-name-it places. Your final stanza states more busy work in this world than we can finish in our lifetime.
BTW, we visited Mumbai in our 2019-2020 cruise from Dubia to Cape Town. A very impressive place; we exited India from Kochi, our last of three in India.

Good to know that you liked the place. I was born here and love everything about it.

The gap between rich and poor is as wide as that bridge.

The topic is as wide, for there are whole thought processes and political ideologies built around the divide.
The gap between the beautiful and ugly can be covered by changing beauty norms. In the last two decades, focus has shifted to physical fitness rather than facial beauty.
Can something similar be done for the rich and poor? Like how much you give, being debt-free also counts as rich.

Some bridges are also to avoid having to deal with meeting with others.
