Regretfully yours

Meeting ex-colleagues after long is a double-edged sword. We start getting into zones we want to forget, after the initial euphoria fades.

Anyway, they were here …. lunching together at the same place, where they did years ago.

“Hank, why do you think we did not rise as fast the current generation does?” Tom spoke in a pensive mood as he patted his lips gently with the napkin.

“Our biggest mistake was that we let the grass grow under our feet.” Hank had always regretted remaining at the same company for three decades.

“And along with it, the weeds too…”

    1. So many norms have changed. I always thought being selected for a job through written test/interview process was better than being referred. Now they say referrals are better because there should be people in the market who speak well of you.
