“The twins are growing up to very different from each other,” rues an exasperated aunt who pampered the duo in their early years.
“Whose imprints do they carry?”
She looks baffled, “You mean what did they inherit?”
“They did. But what makes each individual unique is their experience and how they react to external stimuli. Then how that experience gels with their inherent personalities creates different textures. They bask in different frequencies of light, which is the response they receive from others.”
“I get the picture now. They will always show different shades, hues and intensities of the same color.

A deep take on the prompt.

Interesting take, Reena.
My husband is an identical twin; his taste in women is the complete opposite of his twin brother’s as seen when comparing me and my sister-in-law. We are different in every way possible. Fascinating.

So very true; no one person can exactly resemble another.

Even with identical twins, the “identical” is in appearance only. Temperament and personality differ, even when similar traits are shared. It’s an interesting study, one in which I got to have a small part as a teacher of identical twins who were involved in a twin study. I surely learned a lot!

They are two different souls, in pieces of the same embryo.

I know some identical twins, each of which have different characteritcs, one taking after his mother and the other, her father .

True. A doctor turned to past life regression after watching one of the twins suffer from life-threatening diseases. He opines that past life karma matters, and claims to have cured certain cases with PLR therapy.

Twins are often times complete opposites in personality. Not sure if that’s genetic or just the desire to be seen as two separate individuals. They may share a birthday, but they often will demand that you acknnowledge who was born into the world first, even if it’s only by minutes. Great story, Reena. Love it!

My two puppy siblings are very different. So, it’s not about human decision making. Maybe, they don’t take after the same parent 🙂
