How could I have been such a shoddy player?
The battlefield looks different and the soldiers placed in wrong positions. The moves were directed by market information, and ‘my eyes and ears out on the field’, but it looks like everybody took me for a ride.
Saurabh looks crestfallen on seeing the 360-degree feedback on him. The coach is not saying it yet, but both of them know his leadership style needs to be hauled up.
He speaks aloud to his coach for the first time,
“Nancy, I trust you completely, but I don’t want to repeat the mistake of following someone’s advice yet again.”
“I have no advice for you. We just need to bring out different options. The final choice will always be yours.”
“Thank you, Nancy! I want to visit all our branch offices to get a first hand feel of what happens there. And I’ll go without informing them.”
“Good idea, you just need to leave your ego and judgements behind.”
“I can’t carry those either – in the topsy turvy situation that you have placed me.”
He smiled, looking straight into her eyes.
“I think you were topsy-turvy and inclined to certain perspectives where we started.”

Brilliant take, Reena.
