Horror stories of abuse and violence against women have been lurking around since time immemorial.

Abuse could come in many forms. The most rampant and the one that I’ve been very vocal about is the abuse in the form of sexual assault or we gravely call it as rape.

I don’t think I need to go graphic in order for us all to understand what rape is. But for the sake of discussion, it is defined by the dictionary as “a type of sexual assault involving sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without their consent.”

The key word is “consent“. Consent is giving permission for something to happen. A sexual act without consent is “rape,” it’s that simple, basic. NO IS NO. NO MEANS NO.
