The place hasn’t changed much in a decade.
But an intriguing sight greets me. Two dogs are lounging around in the chairs which the senior Smith couple used to grace.
I push the gate open and see a young girl serving their food in bowls on the table.
“I haven’t seen you here before.”
“How could you? I came from the West Coast to take care of the dogs. It was a pre-condition for inheritance as per my grandparents’ will.”
She breaks into a smile as she strokes the lovely fur-babies.
“They remember my grandparents more than their children do.”

I enjoyed reading this! At first, I thought about crazy rich people leaving their inheritance to the dog, but then it all fell into place and made sense. It seems the grandparents knew what they were doing!

An interesting tale! I think these characters could go somewhere from here…even the dogs. I would steal the idea if I had time to write! Lol.

In general, I like dogs more than some people. I could see myself doing this.

I love that the dogs get to sit in chairs at the table. No wonder the grandparents wanted to leave them in this young woman’s care.

I noticed my pups trying to eat at the table rather than the bowl placed on the ground (they are inept though). It spurred the thought.

Dear Reena,
Our pets love us unconditionally. Our children? Not so much.

A family reunited. I wonder what the kids did to be cut out of the will
