The chef’s mother was a great cook, and he sought inspiration from her expertise while developing recipes.
He spent a lot of time with her in the kitchen. Sometimes, it saddened him to see his mother brutally beaten up. But somehow, his father always gave a reason for doing so. It was an act of disobedience, or just having an independent mind to take decisions.
The location and scenario both changed since then.
It is his Mom’s chopping board and knife, but the blood belongs to someone else … someone he loved, disappointed, tortured and then….
How history repeats itself…

It’s sad how some children are “doomed” to repeat their parent’s actions. On the other hand some are rewarded because their parents are wonderful. Luck of the draw, I suppose.

It’s a strong possibility. But we don’t get to choose our parents 🤔

I’ve seen it so many times with varying vices, where the kids swear they won’t be like their parents. The patterns get set though, despite their best intentions. Reena, a thoughtful observation in your story.

Thank you! I think deep down the negative behavior is registered as acceptable, just because they’ve seen it happening so frequently.

How you related this picture to that story, I wonder. You are a great story teller, dear.

I couldn’t think of a recipe with cabbage and fruit :), so it ended on a gruesome note.

History repeats… How horrible. But it is happening. Someone not only kept the parts in the fridge but was partying in the same room. Horrible.

The judicial system is not willing to explore things from that angle. Worse still, girls continue to believe those with a criminal mindset.
