This refers to the murder of a journalist I’d never heard of, till the assassination brought many stories to light.
You can read about her on Wikipedia
it was the only way she knew to live
it was the only voice she spoke with
bereft of veils
or diplomatic shields
accused of stealing laptops
she fought extremists
with a bare pen
controversial assassination
created awareness
those who had never heard of her
saluted with both hands, mind and soul
silent respect made them feel whole
integrity
drowned in slogans
hate campaigns
smeared nationalism
spoke of revenge
the intended demo effect
showed perpetrators
in black, lost in melange
her golden ink glows with
belief, commitment, courage
someday, honesty
will come of age

Of late this is becoming a practice. You unreveal truth and be eliminated by the vested interests. Kudos to those who still fight for truth and justice. Very well penned, Reena. Very powerful post.

Thank you so much! It depends on which truth you unravel – the ones supporting power or exposing them

A strong belief system is effective, only when accompanied by courage.

You capture the injustice, the despair but what triumphs is her determination, and above all the hope that none of it was in vain. Though her integrity was questioned you place it at center. Wonderful, thank you for this Reena.
