The Lament of Gaia …. by Aboli Mane

Hello! I’ve decided to join in on Just Jot It January hosted by Linda G. Hill. Today’s prompt is “reversal” by Sadje.
Sunil sat alone in the cramped airless cabin. Ivory walls enclosed him on all sides. He sat resignedly on the bunk bed that some chap had taken the care to line with a hard mattress. Sunil didn’t mind. He had weathered many homeless years on the streets of an indifferent metropolis. This was a luxury. The only things his hands ached for were a pencil and a diary. A paperback would be nice too. Too unfortunate that reading was not necessary these days.
Oh well, the world was ending anyway. The earth had wobbled off its orbit and a devastating solar storm had wiped out the galaxy. Some power in the universe had snapped, perhaps its patience with humans had ended.
