hidden force

here you are standing
in the midst of the ocean
letting yourself be swayed
accepting all the push and pull
of the waves of life
always at the mercy
of external stimuli

one day, you were told

endless states of mind
it does take some faith and courage,
to attain the level of selfpersuasion
and know the outside world
is not for signs and confirmation

relieved, it didn’t matter

for you know you are the hidden force
in every situation
the causation behind circumstances encountered
but, will it be alright
if no one knew, not a hint of recognition
of the noble ideals you projected
