Dingy Halls …. bu Audrine Maxden

he walked the dingy halls
more than a thousand times
carrying resentment and strife
muddy shoes trailed his path
aware of all the injustices
that followed him around
one day, it suddenly clicked
a tiny spark outwitted his tricks
reformed his world
to an instant delight
he walks again the dingy halls
a tiny infant in his arms
oh my look at his strides
passing through the corridor
with renewed fervor
and sense of pride
the halls now in his eyes, transformed
to a bright luminous route
at the end of the path
he saw his wife, greeting them
with a glowing smile
he said to her,
i’ve been through this halls
too many times, only now
it appears foreign to my eyes
something i-
simply fail to cognize
you changed, dear
was his wife’s short reply.
