This week Reena Saxeena over at Reena’s Xploration Challenge set us the task of writing something in response to this line: “passing through a doorway in history”.Below lies my contribution, a poem titled: Moment In The Sun.

MOMENT IN THE SUN

This is our moment in the sun
When we embrace the spotlight
Or cut and run
Because it’s too bright!
This is your 15 minutes
Of fame
When we surpass our limits
And dance in the rain
Make the most of our time
Here on earth
Sing; travel; paint or rhyme
Show us what you’re worth
Because we’re just
“passing through a doorway in history”
A mere drop in the ocean of time
A twinkle in our maker’s eye
What happens next is a mystery
Which way you turn
When you walk through that door
No way to discern
What lies in store
Until you turn the handle
