“Who are you without the identity of your parents?”

The identity of women is often linked to that of the family – parents, husband, children. They are expected to behave in a manner befitting the social status and beliefs of the family.

I reproduce the answer below.

I firmly believe that every relationship is ultimately between two individuals – genetic, legal and social bonds withstanding. How you react or respond to one another will depend on individual temperaments and belief systems.

People within a family can thus, dislike each other, despite the familial bonds. Friends can have relationships that go beyond structures and expectations.
