The poem below: MAPPED OUT was originally written & published back in April of this year for a special online “Written In The Stars” spoken word event I participated in for Poetry Day Ireland. But I thought it quite apt as a response to this particular picture prompt for Reena’s Xploration Challenge 246.
MAPPED OUT
Is it written in the stars?
Is our road mapped out ahead?
Can we travel there by cars?
On magic carpets or in our beds?
Can you read it in the cards?
Cryptically hidden in my star sign?
Does it predict life on Mars?
Will it reveal to me at what time?
It will all come together
Or is that in the hands of the gods?
Is there love or some treasure
At the end of it all?
Maybe you believe in fate?!
