My husband is being critical as usual. He has never liked this interior decorator.
“This is soothing on the eyes. And my baby is going to shine like gold, not a subdued silver.”
His arms engulf me in a split second, and he smiles.
“I can’t hurt a mother-to-be’s sentiment. Have it your way….”
Six years later, my child says the same thing about the wall paper.
Genetics shows up in many ways. Anyway, it’s time to change the decour and the wallpaper. She is growing up.

It is fascinating (and sometimes frightening) to see what characteristics, mannerisms, preferences our children adopt and/or inherit from us. My daughter and I are so similar in some ways. Emotional, fiery, stubborn, empathic, sensitive.
