a splash of colour
amongst neutral whites
hear the whites speak
protest
complain
criticise
against the invasion of colour
it does not blend
with their mindset
with their culture
-anything that’s different
is attacked by
belligerent vultures
the different colour
is individualistic
not always a rebel
but is labelled
a criminal
-for not agreeing
not blending in
with fossilized mindsets
there are only two options
fade into the background
with neutral whites
or
Start a revolution
Sadly, this would seem to be the case!

A strident poem with a punch, and literary demands….a revolution of colour to rethink priorities….could be..

I think revolutions are happening, but they are quieter than in the past. Maybe peaceful interactions are taking place, allowing voices to be heard.

Yes. The internet makes it easier for voices to be heard.

What a metaphor from this painting. A unique take! Unfortunately, there are way too many fossilized minds around.

Fossils don’t realize how much of progress they block 😦

Indeed. But I suppose we can learn from them.

There must be more than two options. Beautiful poem that can reach beyond racial differences.

Excellent piece, Reena! Fossilized mindsets seem to be the trend, unfortunately.

Beautiful poem and so well said. A change not easily accepted and often criticised. But the efforts put in at the end wins though it takes time.

I like the second option, but I’ll only be able to support the revolution with kindness 🤗🤗🤗
