I’m sure I saw Gautam walk through a wall, but I’ve been consigned to an asylum for saying that.
Buddha developed these powers after enlightenment, but treated it as of no special consequence. She couldn’t think of Gautam ever meditating, but could it be that she had developed a special power of seeing his spiritual form?
Gautam has come to meet the doctor, and she hopes to be released from this place soon, but she soon learns that she is not wanted in the outside world.
She sees Gautam drive out of the huge gate, his form turning a dark, smoky grey.
True enlightenment lies within the confines of the spirit, and the whole world is nothing but a distraction, including Gautam.

Superb Six, Reena. Finding spirit in life’s distractions (and even when they put us in boxes and asylums) is hard but achievable.

Perhaps my years of reading, re-reading certain of Castaneda’s books is the thing that allows me to accept the concept of “stopping the world”. But who talks about that kind of thing at family gatherings and cocktail parties, lol
What a perfect last sentence, Reena.

The world can be a distraction to the truth within the soul.

Most often it is, because we tend to reflect others’ opinions rather than focussing inwards.

Confined, not wanted in the outside world… is retreat inside one’s head the best option after all? Brilliant six, Reena!

“True enlightenment lies within the confines of the spirit, and the whole world is nothing but a distraction, including Gautam.”
But… but! organized religions not only cannot tolerate the first half (of your most perceptive observation), it surely will not allow the masses to believe the second half.
After all, if we all have the key, then what do they have to sell?
Thought-provoking Six, as always.

I like this phrase describing the reaction of others to what one has said, “but I’ve been consigned to an asylum for saying that”.

At times it does seem that the whole world can be a distraction, especially when wanting to communicate with the Spirit.
