those were not my words
but thoughts in a spin cycle
what came through voice chords
A jumbled jargon
as if the words
did not know
which thought to attach with
some of them could link
to so many thoughts
others did not recognise themselves
coming from a deep subconscious
Is that really me??
A tumble dry
made them look
more wrinkled
permanent press
threatened to kill
so I spread those out
on the clothesline
trying to peg
each one with a clip
but failed…
Those were not my words
but thoughts that occurred
now or sometime ago…

I often speak without thought… alas… it would have been better to think a little more beforehand.

One can control speech, but the fact that the thought occurred is indicative of something.
