Rolling Dice

The dice tumbled 
 and the table 
 leaned forward 
 with held breath

 would it be a one
 or a six?
given a chance
 it wants spherical dice
 where numbers
 mix

 wiped out dots
 to give  
 opportunities
 to guess
 with some time
 to correct the mess

 dice lands 
 on a rough surface
 a polished side
 gleaming 
 A winner’s hand
 gleefully glides

 another day
 another set of players
table and dice
both explore
gamblers’ mindsets
 with its many layers
