Interpretation

I remember the shape of your ship sailing away on the horizon, turning dark, reducing in size, till it moved out of sight.

We did not share the same space any more, and my daughter had no access to your world.

Your responses changed from reassuring to tardy to silence – she was foolish enough to interpret silence till I saw the frightened, broken look in her eyes, on seeing through your indifference and knowing that she was not wanted.

The moment of realization shattered her, but allowed her to understand the hollowness of words spoken before.

With great pleasure, I saw her blossom into a self-aware and complete person, who does not cower on being ignored, nor cares to respond to belittling remarks.

She found her destination on a journey you set on – her precious, independent self.
