Rethink

Carson pulled at his neck tie as the air became heavy with organ music and she approached clouded in white. 

He had not intended this farce to attain the grandeur he was seeing. It was a contract – a marriage being solemnised so that he gets his share of the inheritance. Being married was a precondition. It was agreed that they would divorce after the process is over, and she was being paid handsomely for it.

He felt jittery now. Did she have other plans?
